Our family loves movies. As our children have become teenagers, we have relaxed a lot on screen time. (I use to be extremely strict when they were younger.) This has meant that a favourite time for us as a family is watching a movie together. We all have different genres we love. At Christmas time we love the memories of having watched a variety of Christmas themed movies together.
This year I have created two advent movie calendars. One is aimed at younger children, the other aimed at our family of teenagers.
Our family advent movie calendar has a lot of our favourite Christmas movies on it that have now become a tradition in our family to watch in December. There are also some new ones that I have researched.
Let me say at the outset – I do not expect that we will have time to watch one movie a day over December. But the advent movie calendar is up on the fridge and we will try and start this Sunday night. That way, we will have time to watch a number of them.
You are welcome to print off the calendar via this link:

Alternatively, you can email me at [email protected] and I will send you a copy.
Please note, I am not advocating how great television is or how helpful it is in raising world changers. I am, though, advocating spending time as a family doing something that you all love, bonding together and creating memories.
I would also love to hear if you and your family have any Christmas movies that you enjoy that are not on this list.
Now to get the popcorn ready…
